I never thought I’d dream to be in Michigan.
We are spending the night at St. Paul/Minneapolis Int’l tonight after a slew of delays. We have now been in either an airplane or an airport for 12 hours. Minneapolis has been having some incredible thunderstorms/flash floods, and so we diverted to La Crosse, WI for 3 1/2 hrs. We finally landed in Minnesota 3 hours after our connecting flight left. Our re-booked flight to Grand Rapids flies out at 7 am, so we figured that the quickest way to get little N down for some much needed sleep was to stay here.
This girl was an absolute ANGEL all day.
An hour after I took this pic, she completely blew out her diaper on the plane, getting stinkies all over that onesies, the leg warmers and Ry’s sweatshirt and jeans. It was impressive to say the least. Ry was not as thrilled.
Little N hardly cried throughout this entire ordeal. I think it’s partly because she was overwhelmed by so many new sensations and partly because she’s just an AWESOME baby. Seriously. Ry and I could not be more proud. So many people commented on how sweet and quiet she was.
She is currently having trouble going to sleep because the ‘quiet room’ here at the airport is not really quiet at ALL, but we’re making the best of it and praying that she’ll get at least some sleep. If nothing else, I’m fine to let her sleep the whole flight to Michigan, and the whole car ride up to middle-of-nowhere Michigan where my sister is graduating.
Little N will be sleeping on two chairs pushed together tonight instead of her regular bed. This will be adventure we’ll tell her about for years to come. How her very first plane ride turned into an incredible travel saga!
We are two tired parents, but come rain or shine, Michigan, we’re coming for you!
